Planning roofing work

Can you inspect the roof before I decide on the work?

Yes. A survey helps establish the condition and the appropriate scope. Explain any leaks, storm damage or other concerns when you enquire, and avoid accessing the roof yourself.

Should solar be considered before roofing starts?

If solar is part of your plans, mention it early. Our in-house solar section works side by side with solar installers so the roof condition, fixing details, weatherproofing and access can be considered together.

Can I ask for a new roof without solar?

Yes. Solar is optional. When you select New Roofs on the enquiry form, you can choose roofing only, solar at the same time, or advice if you have not decided.

What determines access and scaffold requirements?

The roof height, pitch, condition, surrounding space and scope of work all affect safe access. These arrangements need assessing and allowing for in the quotation.

Can you give a completion date from a photograph?

A photograph can help start the conversation but cannot confirm the complete scope. A programme depends on the survey, materials, access and suitable weather, and should be agreed for your job.

Is the quotation free and without obligation?

Yes. Heritage offers free surveys and written estimates without obligation. The work, access arrangements and any exclusions should be agreed before work begins.

What if the survey identifies more work than expected?

Ask us to explain the findings and the proposed scope before deciding. Any change to the agreed work or price should be discussed and agreed rather than assumed.
