Black guttering fixed to white fascia boards on a brick house

Guttering in Peterborough

Gutter and downpipe repairs, replacement and realignment.

Damaged or overflowing gutters can allow rainwater to run onto walls and roofline boards. Leaks, loose brackets and disconnected downpipes should be inspected.

We repair and replace gutters and downpipes, including work carried out alongside fascia and soffit replacement.

Signs you might need this

  • Water pouring over the front edge in heavy rain
  • Drips at joints and corners
  • Green streaks or damp patches on the brickwork
  • Sagging runs or brackets pulling away
  • Downpipes that are cracked or disconnected at the bottom

What the work covers

  • Replacement uPVC gutters and downpipes
  • Joint and bracket repairs
  • Re-aligning runs to the correct fall
  • Box ends and corner details
  • Combined gutter, fascia and soffit renewals

Considering solar panels? We can check whether the roof is in a suitable condition first and coordinate the roofing side with the installation. See our solar service.

Planning guttering

Why check a whole gutter when one joint leaks?

Incorrect falls or a blockage elsewhere can make water collect at a joint. The visible leak is not necessarily the original cause.

Can water pass behind an unbroken gutter?

Yes. An unsuitable eaves detail or gutter position can let runoff miss the channel entirely.

Should an extension trigger a drainage review?

Yes. Additional roof area can change the flow entering existing gutters and outlets.

Is gutter cleaning the same as gutter repair?

No. Cleaning removes debris; failed joints, brackets, alignment or damaged sections require their own repair.

Can gutter replacement solve every damp wall?

No. It can address defective roof runoff, but damp may also have other building or ground-related causes.

Are cast-iron-to-plastic changes always unrestricted?

Do not assume so. Listed status, conservation controls or Article 4 directions may affect a proposed material change.
